Hannah’s Blog Shortlisted as Headline Money’s Blog of the Year 2021!! 🎉🎉

blog-of-the-year

Updated: Dec 6, 2021

Well I can’t believe it! 🤩🥳 I haven’t stopped smiling for days!

But it didn’t take me long to realise that I’d missed a golden SEO opportunity…

blog-of-the-year

Should it have been Hannah’s Blog or Hannah Duncan Investment Content?

Shortly after the news went live, I realised that I made a mistake. And it’s such a silly mistake too.

I called my entry “Hannah’s Blog“. There’s nothing altogether wrong with this, except that I have zero SEO value for “Hannah’s Blog”. So anybody who wants to discover more will struggle to find me on Google. Well, actually it will be nearly impossible.

Whoops. 🤦‍♀️

For someone who spends every day considering SEO strategy, that was a pretty massive blunder to make.

So how do I fix it? 🔧

I think it’s fairly obvious that I should have called my award entry “Hannah Duncan Investment Content Ltd“. This would help me to boost up my page views and get some lovely new clients.

But I can’t go back in time. So I’m going to try my best to fix it from here.💪

Here goes: 😎 (Cue the Mission Impossible music! 🎶 dun, dun, dundun, dun, dun…🎶)

  • The mission: To get to the top of Google / Ecosia for “Hannah’s Blog” WITHOUT keyword stuffing
  • The timeline: Before the news gets old and potential clients lose interest
  • The strategy: A little something I’m going to call…

… Hannah’s Blog Campaign!

There are 3 steps to my strategy:

  1. Publish 2-3 blogs on my website which each have the keywords “Hannah’s Blog” in the H1 heading and H2 headings
  2. Add “Hannah’s Blog” to the alt text of images
  3. Where possible, link “Hannah’s Blog” to my actual blog page

The potential downsides are that I could end up keyword stuffing, which I really don’t want to do.

And most importantly, I don’t want the content to be super boring. Because I was shortlisted by Headline Money for my good writing, not for crappy SEO tricks. So I need to stay true to myself. No sell-outs here!

Hannah’s Blog Lift-off! 🚀

So here goes! Wish me luck! 🤞

This is the journey I need to take to fix my SEO mistake. If it all goes to plan … Well hopefully I will have two high ranking key words, and that would be EPIC 🚀💪

PS. If you would like to help me out, you could google “Hannah’s Blog” until you find me, give it a click and then read around my site 🙏

Obviously, you don’t have to, you owe me nothing. But I am kind of a nice person. And I mostly try to write content to help people. Plus I’m self-employed. That’s really hard, and you know, it’s nice to be nice. Karma and that. There are a bunch of studies showing how kindness can make you happier, and I think it’s an anti-ager too…

Whoa ok. I’m firing off into a whole new article here… 🚀

UPDATE: HANNAH’S BLOG CAMPAIGN

22.05.2021

It was 1 o’clock in the morning, I was just finishing off a Netflix binge before heading to bed.

(Netflix’s Money Explained to be precise, I recommend the last episode on pensions).

And it hit me. Like a shark in the murky depths of the ocean deep. I felt the chill. My eyes widened and darting. Breathing became more shallow.

I forgot to put Google Ads in my strategy.

Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!

So here we go, step 4 of my strategy is to GOOGLE ADS MYSELF SILLY. It really does make a massive difference, and helped me get the number on position for “Investment Content” and “Hannah Duncan Finance” some years back.

Like a flash, I whizzed over to my computer. I’ll be honest, I’m a bit broke at the moment, so I can’t afford more than £90 a month. And just like that I made an ad for Hannah’s Blog. Phew Phewy Phew.

Annnnddd… Here it is! 👇
